Multi-Vehicle Crash On I-495 Leaves Women In Serious Condition

New Castle – Yesterday at approximately 5:40 pm, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Minquadale, Wilmington Manor and Holloway Terrace Fire Companies were dispatched to the area of Interstate 495 Southbound and Route 141 for a motor vehicle crash, reported serious, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr..

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a multi-vehicle crash with one patient suffering serious injuries. The patient, an 80-year-old female, was treated on scene for head and facial injuries, possible abdominal injuries and pain in the extremities. The patient was transported to the Emergency Room at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Holloway Terrace Fire Company with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

Two other patients were evaluated on scene, but declined transport to the hospital.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
