Newark – Newark Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred on November 9, 2017 at approximately 1:15 a.m. at an apartment in the 4000 block of Scholar Drive, according to Lt. Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the victim, a 20-year-old University of Delaware student, reported that she was in her bedroom when she heard noises inside of her apartment. After exiting her bedroom, the victim noticed that her television, valued at $120.00, had been stolen from the living room and one of the living room windows was found open, said Nelson.

Officers checked the area with the assistance of a New Castle County Police K-9 Officer, however, they were unable to locate the suspect. There was no damage to the window and it is believed to have been unlocked at the time of the burglary.
