Box Truck Into A Utility Pole, One To Hospital

Wilmington – Yesterday, at approximately 11:40 am, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company were dispatched to the 800 block of Woodsdale Road for a motor vehicle crash, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found the patient, a 40-year-old male, who was the driver of a large box type truck that struck a pole. The patient suffered a possible medical emergency while driving the vehicle. He was treated on scene and transported to the Emergency Department at Wilmington Hospital on board an ambulance from the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. The patient was stable at the time of transport.

The New Castle County Police Department was on scene and is investigating the crash.
