County Police: Two Kids 16,13 Found In Stolen Car, One Arrested

Newark – Sunday (December 10) New Castle County Patrol officers were patrolling the area of The Sparrow Run Community. The officer observed a Silver Nissan Sedan making several traffic violations, at which time the officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for the infractions, according to police.

Officials said officers learned that the vehicle was reported stolen to New Castle County Police from the 8000 block of Rodin Ct on Sunday, December 3rd.

A 16-year-old driver and 13-year-old passenger were taken into custody without incident.

The 13-year-old was not charged, according to police.

The 16-year-old, from the 500 block of Concord Bridge Place was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, failure to use turn signal, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper lane change, and driving a vehicle without consent of the owner. He was arraigned and released on $1,350.00 unsecured bond and issued a no contact order.
