Bellefonte Cell Phone Store Robbed At Gunpoint

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a cell phone store located in the Monterey Shopping Center that occurred yesterday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred around 1:26 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, as a male subject armed with a handgun in his waistband entered the Cricket Wireless store, located at 729 Philadelphia Pike . The suspect approached an employee and demanded money from the register, said Jaffe. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect exited the front entrance of the store and fled in an unknown direction. The employee was not injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 30-40 years of age, approximately 6’0″-6’2″ tall, 170 lbs., wearing all dark colored clothing and armed with a handgun.
