Newark – Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Newark area gas station that occurred overnight, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 12:58 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Exxon gas station, located at 4600 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark. Two black female suspects entered the business and began browsing, under the premise of making a purchase. Soon after, two black male suspects entered and approached the 55-year-old male employee at the sales counter. One suspect displayed a knife, while the second suspect implied that he was armed with a handgun, according to Austin.
