Homeless Man Stabbed In Wilmington

Wilmington – On Wednesday, 24 January 2018, at approximately 6:20 pm, Wilmington Police were summoned to the Wilmington Train Station (100 S. French Street) reference a stabbing, according to police.

Officials said upon the officer’s arrival, they made contact with a 54-year-old male subject suffering from what appeared to be two puncture wounds to his torso.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County paramedics and then he was transported via ambulance to the Christiana Hospital where he was taken into surgery.

Prior to his transport to the hospital the victim, who is homeless, advised officers that the incident occurred in the 500 block of King Street, then he indicated that the incident occurred in a restroom located in the Wilmington Train Station.

Police have been unable to locate a crime scene at either location. During their investigation to determine what jurisdiction this incident may have occurred, officials discovered through video surveillance that the victim was not stabbed inside the Wilmington Train Station.

Officials are waiting until the victim recovers before they interview him further.
