Police Looking For Thief That Stole Shoe Store Inventory Worth $4,620

File

Newark Police Department is investigating a felony theft from Banana Shoes, 308 Suburban Drive, that occurred on 1/12/18 between 2:39 a.m. and 4:38 a.m., according to Lt. Fred Nelson.

Nelson said on 1/12/18 at 11:20 a.m. an employee reported that a number of packages were delivered to the back door of the store on 1/11/18 just prior to midnight. When the employee arrived at the store the next morning, she found two of the packages had been opened and were lying next to the dumpster. The employee determined that $4,620 worth of inventory had been stolen from the packages.

A review of area surveillance camera footage showed a vehicle, possibly a silver Chrysler 300, pulling up to the rear of the store on four occasions between 2:39 and 4:38 a.m. One or two suspects are observed taking packages each time the suspect vehicle arrives, said Nelson. No additional description of the suspects is available.
