Reports: Pedestrian Struck By Box Truck On I-95 SB At State Line

Newark/Elkton – At approximately 9:45 this morning rescue crews from Elkton’s Singerly Fire Company, along with Maryland State Troopers responded to I-95 SB at the Maryland/Delaware state line for reports of a pedestrian struck by a box truck.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that a woman was found badly injured and was rushed to Christiana Hospital with a trauma alert.

The accident appears to involve several vehicles including a box truck. It’s unclear if the woman was trying to cross the road or if she was struck after getting out of her car.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

I-95 SB traffic is down to one lane while Troopers investigate. Avoid the area.
