File

Stanton -Delaware State Police detectives are investigating a carjacking, in which two children were occupants of the stolen vehicle, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Wawa located at 2030 Limestone Road, Wilmington. The Chevrolet was located in a nearby neighborhood, approximately five minutes after being taken, by a passerby who observed a white male suspect abandon the vehicle in the driveway of residence. Both children were located along with the vehicle and were not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect, who was able to flee on foot, was described as a white male, 40 years of age, wearing a tan jacket, white knit hat and dark colored pants.
