Troopers Investigating Brandywine Hotel Robbery, Suspect Had A Reflective Vest On

Wilmington – Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a North Wilmington hotel that occurred overnight, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the Inn of Wilmington, located at 300 Rocky Run Boulevard, Wilmington. A black male suspect entered the hotel and approached the 33-year-old male clerk at the front desk, under the premise of booking a room. The suspect then ordered the clerk to give him all the money from the register, as he grasped an object in his waistband which the clerk believed to be a weapon, according to Austin. The clerk complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then on foot into the parking lot. The clerk was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 35-45 years of age, 5’10”-6’00”, 180-200 lbs., wearing a reflective vest over a dark colored sweatshirt, dark pants and a knit hat.
