File

New Castle – Just before 7:00 Saturday evening crews from the Christiana Fire Company, along with Delaware State Police responded to the intersection Route 273 (Christiana Road) and East Edinburgh Drive for reports of a vehicle accident with entrapment.

Early reports indicate that crews found a vehicle into a tree with one patient injured.  Crews were able to remove the patient within minutes of arrival. It’s not clear if the patient was actually trapped.

The severity of the patient’s injuries is unknown at this time. Initial reports from the scene indicated that one patient was being readied for transport. Shortly thereafter medics with the New Castle County Paramedics were asked to respond to the scene.

At 7:10 pm Delaware State Police issued an alert that read “Road Closure-Rt 273 Westbound AT East EDINBURGH SHUT DOWN FOR A CRASH.”
