Wilmington – Wilmington Homicide Detectives are investigating a double homicide that occurred inside a home in the 2200 block of Lamotte Street, according to Wilmington Police Spokeswoman Stephanie Castellani.
Castellani said at approximately 1:00 pm on Monday, Wilmington Police were summoned to the home to conduct a welfare check on the residents.
Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a 29-year-old female who appeared to have been shot in the head and a 43-year old male who appeared to have been shot, stabbed, and beaten.
Both victims appeared to have been deceased for a few days, said Castellani. The circumstances of the deaths are unknown and no witnesses have been located or come forward, added Castellani.
Detectives are working to the identities the victims. Further updates regarding their identities of the victims will be released once authorities have positively identified the two, according to Castellani.
