Authorities Investigating Fire That Killed One In Millsboro

Millsboro – The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating this morning’s fire in Millsboro, Delaware, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said one person was rescued from the house trailer and later pronounced dead.

The blaze, reported shortly after 3:00 am, occurred in the unit block of Harbor Road in Malone’s Marina, Longneck. The Indian River Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing a house trailer. One resident was removed by firefighters and rushed to Beebe Hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.

State fire investigators are on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Two other occupants of the home were treated and released from Beebe Hospital.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $50,000. This fire remains under investigation, Chionchio said.
