Rite-Aid Employee Wounded During Armed Robbery

Dover – The Dover Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that left a store employee wounded, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 4:39 am, an unknown black male suspect was observed shoplifting by a 45-year old Rite-Aid employee. When the employee confronted the suspect, the suspect pulled a knife from his jacket and approached the victim, cutting him on his left arm, according to Hoffman. The victim then grabbed the suspect and struggled with him to the floor, but the suspect was able to flee. The suspect was seen fleeing in a white Nissan Pathfinder being operated by a white female.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.
