Bomb Squad Investigating Suspicious Vehicle At Frawley Stadium, Some Students On Field Trip Late Getting Home

Wilmington – At around 11:30 Officers from the Wilmington Police Department, along with the Wilmington Fire Department and units from Saint Francis Hospital are currently on scene in the area of the Frawley Stadium for reports of a suspicious vehicle.

The Wilmington Police Department’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit and local ATF is currently on scene, using their EOD robots to clear the vehicle.

Reports from the scene indicate that children from multiple school districts are being kept inside the stadium, as police search the vehicle.

Reports from the scene indicate that students from Red Clay and Smyrna are among the children that attended today’s event at Frawley Stadium.

At approximately 2:25 the Superintendent for Smyrna School District sent out a robo call alerting parents that some students will be late getting back to school.
