Fire Marshal Seeking Witnesses To Beaverbrook Plaza Dollar Tree Fire

 

New Castle – The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is asking for the public’s assistance in the continuing arson investigation into the fire that occurred at the Dollar Tree store in New Castle, Delaware on March 23, 2018, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal, Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said the blaze, reported at 7:13 pm, occurred inside the Dollar Tree store located in the Beaverbrook Plaza Shopping Center. The two alarm fire caused approximately $800,000 in damage. State fire investigators determined that the fire was intentionally started inside the store. The pursuing of investigative leads by investigators resulted in one arrest on March 24, 2018.

State fire investigators are reaching out to any one that was inside the store prior to the discovery of the fire as potential victims and/or witnesses. Numerous shoppers have been interviewed however investigators want to talk to every customer in the store on March 23, 2018 between 6:00 pm and 7:13 pm.
