Officials said when officers went to confirm his identity, he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued the individual and as the individual entered the 1400 block of W. 5th Street, he crossed the path of a an assisting police vehicle and was struck.
He was taken into custody and treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics. He was then transported to Christiana Hospital via ambulance where he is listed in stable condition.
The individual was identified as Devante Lloyd, 8-27-92, a fugitive out of Pennsylvania for violation of parole, according to police.
