Police: Investigation Leads To Drugs, Cash And Counterfeit Money, Suspect Released On Unsecured Bail

Newark – Detectives from the New Castle County Police arrest 39-year-old Keenan Joyner for numerous drug offenses in the community of Sparrow Run, according to M/Cpl. Michel Eckerd.

Eckerd said during the month of April, detectives from the New Castle County Police Drug Control Unit spearheaded an investigation into reports of illegal drug activity within the community of Sparrow Run.

Yesterday, sufficient evidence was gathered to conduct a search warrant in the unit block of Egret Court, said Eckerd. During the search, 39-year-old Keenan Joyner was taken into custody and the following items were seized: 6.9 grams of Crack Cocaine, 185 Xanax Pills, 12 Oxycodone Pills, and 41 grams of marijuana, according to Eckerd.

$318 in cash was also seized along with a substantial amount of counterfeit US currency, added Eckerd.

Keenan Joyner was arrested and charged with: two counts of felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, two counts of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Keenan Joyner was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $15,200 unsecured bail.
