Marshallton-Area ALDI Announces Opening Date, First 100 Customers Receive Gift Card

Marshallton – Grocery shopping in Wilmington just got smarter, faster and easier. ALDI will open its first store in Wilmington as part of a $3.4 billion investment to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022. The Marshalltown-Area store will be the third ALDI store in Delaware. ALDI opened its first two Delaware stores in Camden and Middletown in 2016.

For more than 40 years, ALDI has set the standard for quality and affordability. Now, Wilmington residents can join the more than 40 million shoppers who turn to ALDI each month for high-quality, affordable food. To celebrate the store opening, ALDI will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 17, at 8:45 a.m., followed by its popular Golden Ticket giveaway offering gift cards to the first 100 customers. Shoppers can also sample ALDI-exclusive brand foods and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

The Wilmington store is part of the $3.4 billion ALDI investment to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022. ALDI currently has more than 1,750 stores in 35 states, serving more than 40 million customers each month.

“Wilmington shoppers deserve a better choice when it comes to grocery shopping,” said Bob Grammer, Center Valley division vice president for ALDI. “ALDI is specially designed to save customers time and money. People will quickly see and experience the many ways we deliver high-quality food at affordable prices. That’s why we do everything we do.”

The Wilmington store’s modern and convenient layout focuses on what people love most: fresh food, produce, dairy and baked goods. ALDI stores also feature open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The new ALDI location is 2205 Farrand Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808
