Police Update Hilltop Shooting, Multiple Wounds To The Torso

Wilmington Police are currently investigating a shooting which occurred at approximately 6:20 pm this evening, in the 1400 block of Lancaster Avenue, according to police.

Officials said police were dispatched in reference to a ‘SHOT SPOTTER’ notification in addition to several calls for ‘shots fired’.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they found a 20-year-old male, who had sustained multiple gunshots wounds to his torso. He was treated by New Castle County Paramedics on scene before being transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Officers also located a 28-years-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. Early reports indicated that he was transported via personal vehicle. Wilmington Police are saying that he was transported by New Castle County Paramedics. We’re working to confirm how he was transported. Police said he is in stable condition as well.

Breaking Report

Wilmington – Firefighters from the Wilmington Fire Department, along with New Castle County Paramedics and Wilmington Police have responded to the area of Lancaster Avenue and N Rodney Street for reports of shooting.

Upon arrival, crews have found at least one patient suffering from multiple gunshots. That patient is en route to the hospital with a Trauma Alert.

Reports from the scene indicate that at least one other person has been shot. They were transported to the hospital via personal vehicle.
