Rollover Crash Traps One Near Bear, Three To Hospital

At approximately 2:40 yesterday morning, New Castle County Paramedics, Christiana and Delaware City Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of Route 1 SB and South Dupont Highway for a motor vehicle crash with report of a rollover involving multiple patients.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found three patients in care of responding personnel.

The first patient, an 11-year-old female, suffered no visual injuries, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell. She was transported via Delaware City Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

The second patient, 32-year-old male, suffered injuries to his head. The patient was transported via Christiana Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

The third patient, 31-year-old female, was confined to the overturned vehicle. Fire personnel utilized about 10 minutes to remove the patient from the vehicle. The patient suffered injuries to her head, arm and abdomen. The patient was transported via Christiana Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

All three patients were transported to Christiana Hospital.
