Troopers Still Looking For Hit-And-Run Driver That They Say Struck And Killed Jeremiah McCarthy In 2016

Hockessin- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian which occurred in 2016, and is seeking the public’s assistance.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:28 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2016, as a pedestrian, identified as 34-year-old Jeremiah McCarthy of Hockessin, was attempting to cross Lancaster Pike (DE Rt. 41) at Ace Memorial Drive.

An unknown make and model vehicle was traveling in the northbound lane of DE Rt. 41 at Ace Memorial Drive and struck McCarthy. McCarthy was pronounced dead at the scene, and the striking vehicle fled from the crash.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has been unable to identify the striking vehicle or the operator and asks anyone with information to please contact Master Corporal J. Forester at 302-365-8485.
