20-Year-Old Woman Found Dead At Firefly Festival In Dover

The Dover Police Department is investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman that occurred on Sunday morning, accorded to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman at approximately 6:30 AM, officers were alerted to an unresponsive female in Firefly Camping Lot 18 at Dover International Speedway.

Upon arrival, officers observed that Caroline Friedman from Philadelphia, PA was unconscious at her campsite. Friedman was treated on scene by medical staff and transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased at 6:55 am.

Friedman was an attendee of the 2018 Firefly Music Festival being hosted at Dover International Speedway.

The cause of Friedman’s death is unknown, but is not the result of foul play. An official cause of death is dependent upon autopsy and toxicology results.
