Newark Shore Stop Robbed At Gunpoint, Troopers Investigating

Newark (19702) – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Newark area gas station Thursday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 9:06 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Valero Shore Stop, located at 796 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, when a suspect confronted an employee at the sales counter and demanded money while brandishing a handgun. The employee complied with the demand by turning over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build, wearing all dark clothing, with a cloth covering a portion of his face.
