17-Year-Old Skateboarder Struck By Vehicle Transported To AI DuPont

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 5:35, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Claymont Fire Company and New Castle County Police were dispatched to the intersection of Green Street and Seminole Avenue, for a pedestrian struck, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found the patient in the care of fire department personnel. The patient, a 17-year-old male, was knocked from his skateboard after being struck by a vehicle. The patient suffered injuries to the head and arm. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

He was transported to the AI DuPont Hospital for Children’s Emergency Department by Claymont Fire Company ambulance accompanied by a New Castle County Paramedic. He was stable at the time of transport.

The New Castle County Police Officers were on scene and are investigating the incident.
