Car Slides Off The Road Into A Retention Pond In Newark

Newark – At around 4:30 this afternoon, Saturday, July 21, 2018, firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with Delaware State Police responded to the I-95 NB on-ramp at Route 896 for reports of a vehicle off the roadway.

Arriving Troopers and rescue crews found a vehicle that had slide off the roadway into a retention pond. Reports from the scene indicate that no one was injured in the accident.

Expect delays in the area as tow truck operators are working to remove the vehicle from the water.

DelDOT has the on-ramp closed while crews work to clear the scene.
