Troppers: Three Arrested In Connection With IPhone Purchase Turned Home Invasion In Dover

The Delaware State Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a home invasion that occurred in late January 2018, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at approximately 8:57 p.m. when Troopers responded to the 1300 block of South Little Creek Road for a reported home invasion. Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with a 35-year-old male resident. The 35-year-old victim advised Troopers he agreed over the phone to meet a female in reference to purchasing an IPhone. The victim responded to an agreed upon location and met with the female in a parking lot. The female proceeded to enter the victim’s car to discuss the purchase of the IPhone. The victim advised the female that his money was at his residence at which time the two of them drove to his house.

Upon the victim exiting his vehicle, he was approached by two males displaying firearms and demanding money, according to Jaffe. The victim was then forced inside of his residence. While the two male suspects were inside the victim’s residence, they ransacked a bedroom. When they did not find any money, they forced the victim at gunpoint back into his own vehicle, said Jaffe. The suspects then proceeded to drive the victim around in his vehicle demanding to know the location of the money. The suspects eventually returned to the residence and again forced the victim back inside of his house for a second time, according to Jaffe. The suspects obtained several items prior to fleeing the scene.

Through investigative measures, Troopers were able to identify the suspects as 23-year-old Arshawon Brown of Harrington, 21-year-old Tianna Scott of Harrington, and 22-year-old Treyon Craig of Harrington.

On March 13, 2018, Tianna Scott was taken into custody while at the Court of Common Pleas on an unrelated manner. She was transported back to Troop 3 where she was charged Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree. Scott was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released after posting $22,000.00 secured bond.

On March 30, 2018, Arshawon Brown was taken into custody by the Middletown Police Department. He was charged with Home Invasion, Robbery First Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy Second Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and Malicious Interference Emergency Communications and Intentionally Prevent or Hinder. Brown was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $189,250.00 secured bond.

On July 30, 2018, Treyon Craig was taken into custody on a traffic stop and transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with Home Invasion, Robbery First Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy Second Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and Malicious Interference Emergency Communications Intentionally Prevent or Hinder. He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $193,000.00 cash only bond.

Dover – The Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred at approximately 8:57 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 when troopers responded to the 300 block of South Little Creek Road for a reported home invasion. Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with a 35-year-old male resident. The 35-year-old victim advised Troopers that earlier that day he had communicated with a female through Facebook to make a purchase of two iPhones. The victim later met with this female and made the purchase. Later in the evening, the same female that the victim had made the purchase from had contacted him about buying an additional iPhone, according to Jaffe. The female arranged for the victim to meet with another female to discuss the purchase of this additional phone.

While the victim agreed to meet the female, he was in his vehicle in a parking lot when the female had entered his car to discuss the purchase of the iPhone. The victim advised this female that his money was at his residence at which time the two of them drove to his house. Upon the victim exiting his vehicle, he was approached by two males displaying firearms and demanding money, said Jaffe. The victim was then forced inside of his residence. While the two male suspects were inside of the victim’s residence, they ransacked a bedroom. When they did not find any money, they forced the victim at gunpoint back into his own vehicle, according to Jaffe. The suspects then proceeded to drive the victim around in his vehicle demanding to know the location of the money. The suspects eventually returned to the residence and again forced the victim back inside of his house for the second time. The suspects obtained several iPhones, an iPad, personal documents and the keys to the victim’s house and vehicle prior to fleeing the scene.

The first suspect was described as a black female, 20-30 years of age. The second suspect was described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years of age, 6’00”-6’02” tall, wearing a face mask partially covering his face, a light-colored sweatshirt and displaying a handgun. The third suspect was described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years of age, 6’00”-6’02” tall, thin build, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and also a face mask partially covering his face, and displaying a handgun. No further suspect information could be provided at this time. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
