Police: Wanted Man Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit In Dover

The Dover Police Department arrested Shakur Peck, 21, following a brief vehicle pursuit on Saturday afternoon, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said officers on patrol observed Peck operating a white Lexus in the area of New Street and Cecil Street at approximately 2:31 PM on Saturday, September 15th. Officers ran a computer check and determined that Peck was wanted for Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited, Theft of a Firearm, Theft Under $1,500, Failure to Re-Register as a Sex Offender, and multiple capiases, according to Hoffman. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but Peck fled. After a short pursuit, Peck stopped and was taken into custody without incident. Three other occupants were briefly detained but not charged in the incident.

Peck was charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrants:
-Disregard Police Officer Signal
-Resisting Arrest
-Driving While Suspended (DE License)
-Reckless Driving
-Multiple Traffic Violations

Peck was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution.
No bail information was provided by Hoffman.
