Police Say Woman Tried To Stab Man At McDonalds

Georgetown – Georgetown Police have arrested an Ellendale Woman after responding to reports of a female attempting to stab a male with a knife in the McDonalds parking lot, according to authorities.

Officials said on September 30, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Georgetown Police were dispatched to the McDonalds parking lot for reports of a woman attempting to stab a male with a knife. Officers arrived on scene and contacted a female who was holding a kitchen knife, said police.

The woman, identified as Rykia Weston, 25 of Ellendale,  complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident. She was arrested for Aggravated Menacing, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited.

Through investigation, Police learned that the female was engaged in a verbal argument with her male partner which escalated, and she produced a knife, attempting to stab him several times, according to police. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.

The male was not injured during the incident.

Weston was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of cash bond.
