Two Vehicle Accident On Lancaster Avenue, At Least Two To Hospital, One By Air

Just before 11:30 this morning rescue crews from the Wilmington Fire Department and area medics responded to Lancaster Avenue, in front of Cab Calloway School of the Arts, for reports of a two-vehicle accident with multiple injuries.

Upon arrival, crews reported that one patient was trapped and began working to free them. As crews worked to extricate the patient, at least one other patient was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

During the extrication process, Command asked for the assistance of an additional rescue crew. Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation), hovering over the scene, landed nearby just as crews we’re freeing the patient.

Once the patient was freed they were transported by air to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
