Just In: 9-Year-Old Girl Airlifted After Townsend ATV Accident

New Castle County Paramedics have released more information regarding the ATV accident that we first told you about last night.

Spokeswoman Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell said at approximately 7:30 last evening, New Castle County Paramedics, Townsend Fire Company and Delaware State Police helicopter (Trooper 4) were dispatched to the area of Blackbird Station Road and Dexter Corner Road for an all-terrain vehicle crash.

While en route ambulance crews learned that the patient had been transported from the scene to a local gas station via personal vehicle, according to reports.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, a 9-year-old female, suffering injuries to her abdomen and legs. The patient was transported by ambulance to the Townsend Fire Company, where Trooper 4 was waiting.

Ambulance crews and New Castle County Paramedics treated the patient before she was airlifted to Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children via Delaware State Police helicopter.
