North East – At around 3:30 this afternoon rescue crews from the North East Fire Company, along with crews from across Cecil County responded to the 2600 block of Biggs Highway for reports of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
Upon arrival, crews reported three patients trapped. Command immediately requested multiple helicopters and at least four ambulances.
Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) transported at least one patient to the trauma center at Christina Hospital in Stanton, Delaware.
Trooper 1 and Trooper 6 (Maryland State Police Aviation) left the scene at around the same time as Trooper 4. It’s unknown if either of those helicopters transported any patients.
Not much is know about the patient’s injuries at this time.
The roadway is expected to be shut down for several hours.
