Troopers ID Woman Killed After Striking Utility Pole

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police have identified the woman who was killed in a crash on Saturday, November 3, 2018 on Mount Joy Road (CR297) just north of Cordrey Road (CR 308) as 32-year-old Kristin F. Fell of Millsboro.

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that occurred earlier this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred at approximately 6:35 a.m., on Saturday, November 3, 2018, as a 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer was traveling northbound on Mount Joy Road (CR297) just north of Cordrey Road (CR 308) attempting to negotiate a moderate right curve. Do to unsafe speed, the operator failed to negotiate the curve causing the TrailBlazer to exit the roadway and strike a utility pole, according to Jaffe.

The operator, a 32-year-old female from Millsboro was not properly restrained and was transported to the Beebe Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.

Mount Joy Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
