Ice Skating And Fireworks To Bring In The New Year

The City of Wilmington is welcoming everyone to enjoy the third annual “Family Fun Night,” which will feature a fireworks show as well as a variety of food, drink and music offerings.

The evening of fun and celebration will start at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 31st at the Horizon Services Riverfront Rink, located at 308 Justison Street.

What to Expect:

Multiple skating sessions, one during the fireworks show
Hot Chocolate
Giveaways
Activities for children and families
Del Pez Mexican Gastropub will be on-site serving Mexican food and craft beers

The evening will culminate with an early New Year’s Eve fireworks show at 9 p.m., which will take place from the same location along the river as the City’s annual 4th of July event and previous New Years’ shows on the Riverfront. So, while the fireworks show can be seen from various locations along the Riverwalk, the ice rink will serve as a de facto viewing party, providing some of the best views of the action, according to officials.

The Details:

Tickets for both sessions will go on sale at 5:30 PM, for $9.50 for kids and $12.50 for adults over 12. All prices include skate rental.
Skaters during the first session are welcome to remain at the rink (off-ice) to get the best view of the fireworks!
Del Pez will be on-site serving food and craft beer
Fireworks start at 9 PM!
