Just In: Woman En Route To Trauma Center After Laurel Crash

Laurel – Just before 4:30 this afternoon, rescue crews from the Laurel Fire Company responded to the 16000 block of Laurel Road for reports of a head-on collision crash with entrapment.

While en route crews learned that the accident involved three or four vehicles.

Upon arrival, command immediately ordered the road closed between E. Trap Pond Road and Samual Hill Road.

At 4:59, Command reported that the patient had been extricated from the vehicle.

Trooper 2 has transported one patient from Sussex County to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital in Staton.

Early reports indicate that a woman with serious injuries is aboard the helicopter.

A total of four patients have been transported to the hospital.

At last check at 6:03 pm the road remains closed.
