Man Found Dead At Accident Scene May Have Died Before Crash

The Dover Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle collision that was possibly the result of a fatal medical condition, according to Public Information Officer M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman.

At approximately 11:07 on Friday evening, Jarvis James, 65, was traveling northbound in the area of the 300 Block of N. Governors Avenue. While traveling, James struck two parked vehicles on the shoulder of N. Governors Avenue and continued to travel northbound, eventually crossing the into the southbound lane and striking a Jeep that was traveling southbound.

The occupants of the Jeep were transported to a local hospital for their injuries and were listed as serious but stable condition.

Based on early evidence, it is believed that Jarvis James suffered from a medical emergency that caused him to become incapacitated and possibly caused his death.
