Just In: Officers Descend On Newark Neighborhood, Police Say It’s Safe

Newark – Over a dozen New Castle Count Police Officers have descended on the Heather Woods neighborhood this morning, according to local residents.

Officials have not released any information regarding the incident at this time. Neighbors reported that an armored vehicle, an ambulance, and multiple police vehicles began arriving just before 9:00 this morning.

The area of interest appears to be at the intersection of Heather Road and Evergreen Drive.

One resident who contacted New Castle County Police via social media was told that it was safe and that officers were conducting an investigation in that area.

Heather Woods sits directly across Salem Church Road at Becks Pond.
