Just In: Rollover Crash Shuts Down Otts Chapel Road, Two To Hospital

Newark – Just before 12:00 today a Trooper with the Delaware State Police radioed to dispatch that he had just witnessed an injury rollover crash on Otts Chaple Road at Welsh Tract Road.

Rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, New Castle County Paramedics and Trooper 4 were subsequently dispatched to the scene. After arriving crews evaluated three patients they canceled paramedics and Trooper 4.

Reports from the scene indicate that a woman and a child were stopped, waiting to turn onto Welsh Tract Road when they were struck from behind by the white vehicle in the photo. The white vehicle then flipped onto its roof and slide approximately fifty yards.

The driver of the overturned vehicle was evaluated at the scene and refused transport.

The woman and the child were both transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road remains closed as Troopers investigate.
