Officials: Man Taken Into Custody After Threatening Armed Forces Recruiting Center, Dover Police

On Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019, the Dover Police Department was contacted in reference to a disorderly subject at the Armed Forces Recruiting Center in the Dover Commons Shopping Center, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said Tyree Clark, 30, made threats to the recruiting center staff. Later in the day, the Dover Police Dispatch Center received a call from Clark stating that he was on his way to the police department to shoot the building, said Hoffman. Officers were able to locate Clark and take him into custody without incident.

No firearm was found in his possession. Clark was also taken for a medical and mental health evaluation as a result of this incident. Once released, Clark will be charged with three counts of Terroristic Threatening and Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications.
