Philadelphia Pike Reopened After Three Hour Closure, Pedestrian Struck And Killed

Update – Troopers have just reopened all lanes of Philadelphia Pike. For approximately three hours all northbound lanes were completely closed and traffic southbound was restricted while Troopers investigated a fatal accident.

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are on scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 5:19 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2019, on Philadelphia Pike in the area of Marsh Road.

Philadelphia Pike northbound is completely closed and traffic southbound is restricted to one lane. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel.

The investigation is in the very early stages with further details being released as they become available.
