Several Residents Forced To Evacuate Homes After Gasoline Spill

New Castle – At 10:44 Last evening, Friday, January 4, 2019, firefighters from the Christiana Fire Company, along with crews from the Wilmington Manor, Minquas, Good Will, and Aetna responded to the 100 block of Freedom Trail, in the Saddlebrook neighborhood, for reports of a gas spill.

Initial reports indicate that someone may have poured gasoline throughout one of the townhouses in the neighborhood. Firefighters and New Castle County Police evacuated several homes in the area as a precaution.

Fire Marshals, HAZMAT crews and New Castle County Paramedics also responded to the scene.
