16-Year-Old Shot In Newark-Area Neighborhood

Yesterday, February 5, 2019 officers from the New Castle Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Sparrow Run in Newark for a report of a shooting.

When the officers arrived they located a 16-year-old male victim. The teen was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for a non-life threating gunshot wound to his upper extremities, according to police.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
