Troopers Release Details Surrounding PNC Bank Robbery At Silverside And Marsh


The Delaware State Police has released details about a story only First State Update brought you yesterday.

Troopers are investigating the robbery of a north Wilmington PNC bank that took place Saturday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 10:23 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the PNC branch located at 1704 Marsh Road. A male suspect entered the business, approached a teller and provided a note demanding money, said Austin. The teller complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who was last seen on foot towards the intersection of Marsh and Silverside Road. The teller was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 40-50 years of age, 5’7” tall, 160 lbs., wearing all dark clothing to include a hat.

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are currently on scene at the PNC Bank, located at 1704 Marsh Road (Silverside at Marsh) in Wilmington.

Reports from the scene indicate that Troopers are investigating a robbery at the bank.

Yellow police tape is blocking access to the location. Detectives have just arrived on scene, according to a witness at the scene.
