Victim Told Police That They Were Robbed At Gunpoint, 14-Year-Old Charged

Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a 14-year-old male after a robbery involving a BB gun, according to officials.

Police said on February 18, 2019, at approximately 9:55 p.m., a police officer was flagged down at 25th and North Market Streets by a victim advising they were robbed at gunpoint. The victim provided a description of the suspect’s clothing, and patrol units conducting a canvass located a male matching the description in the 2400 block of Jessup Street.

Police conducted a pedestrian stop and the suspect admitted that he was in possession of a BB gun, according to police. He was taken into custody without incident and a silver revolver BB gun was recovered from his waistband. The suspect was also in possession of the victim’s property and was positively identified by the victim, said police.

The juvenile has been charged with Robbery (First Degree) and Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Instrument.

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and held over on $55,000 bail.
