19-Year-Old Gunned Down In Sparrow Run Late Wednesday

New Castle County Police are actively investigating an apparent Homicide that occurred in the community of Sparrow Run in Newark.

Late last night, Mar 6, 2019, at 11:45 p.m., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to a shooting which had occurred on the unit block of Raven Turn. When the units arrived, they discovered a 19-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were initiated and performed by the initial responding officers, however, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased, according to police.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit Homicide Squad arrived on scene and are currently investigating the incident.
