Police: Domestic Incident Ends With Woman Shot, Second Incident Blocks Away

Wilmington Police are investigating two incidents that occurred along Washington Street this afternoon.

We first told you about a shooting that occurred at West 35th Street at Washington Street as crews were responding to that location at around 4:30.

At this time investigators believe this to be a contained domestic incident with no threat to the general public, according to Wilmington Police spokesman David Karas.

Karas said a 32-year-old female victim was transported to the hospital and is currently listed in critical but stable condition at this time. Early indications are that the woman was shot twice, according to reports from the scene.

Not long after the reports of the first shooting, police responded to Brandywine Park near the Washington Street Bridge.

Witnesses at the scene said police had roped off the area with yellow police tape and were focusing on a vehicle.

The car was later towed from the scene, according to witness reports.

It is believed that the two scenes are linked together by the domestic incident.
