Police: Man Who Shot Himself Under Washington Street Bridge Identified, Woman Remains Hospitalized

A Wilmington Police Department investigation into a shooting earlier this month has confirmed that the incident was domestic in nature, according to police.

On Thursday, March 7. 2019, Police and rescue crews responded to 35th Street at Washington Street as crews were responding to that location at around 4:30.

Not long after the reports of the first shooting, police responded to Brandywine Park near the Washington Street Bridge.

Witnesses at the scene said police had roped off the area with yellow police tape and were focusing on a vehicle. The car was later towed from the scene, according to witness reports.
