Troopers Locate Man Charged With Rape, Strangulation

Selbyville – The Delaware State Police have located and arrested 23-year-old Xavier Aiken of Milton, DE who was wanted in connection with a sexual assault incident, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on February 22, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m., when Troopers responded to a local area hospital and made contact with a 17-year old female victim who reported that she had been sexually assaulted. Further investigation revealed that the victim was at a residence in Selbyville when she had been sexually assaulted, strangled, physically assaulted and held against her will, by Aiken, Jaffe said.

On March 11, 2019, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Aiken was located at a residence in the 20000 block of Reynolds Pond Road, Ellendale and taken into custody without incident. He was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

Rape First Degree
Rape Second Degree
Kidnapping First Degree
Assault Second Degree
Strangulation
Aiken was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $208,000.00 secured bond.
