Police: Woman Stabbed To Death Overnight, Suspect Returned To Scene


New Castle County Police have released some details surrounding a stabbing death that occurred overnight.

Officials said this morning, April 23, 2019,  at approximately 12:23 a.m., officers from the New Castle County Police officers were dispatched to the unit block of Robinson Lane, in the Maryland Park Apartments, for reports of a stabbing.

[ms-protect-content id=”35525,36371,36374,36464,36481″]Several patrol units arrived at the scene very quickly and located a victim who had several stab wounds to her upper torso. Lifesaving efforts were initiated. however, the victim was later pronounced deceased after being transported to an area hospital.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. They were able to identify a suspect who had fled the scene in a vehicle, officials said. After being contacted, the male suspect returned to the scene with an acquaintance and was immediately taken into custody.

This is an ongoing investigation and additional releases will be forthcoming. At this time there are no additional suspects being sought.
